If installing the combo-update does not solve the problem, you could try and run a version of SheepShaver that will run in X11 (see at the end of the thread mentioned above). With the release of 10.5.8 around the corner you could wait for 10.5.8 and then download and install the combo-update rather than installing the update using Software Update. Officials said they responded to Circular Avenue in the area of Church Street. The solution that solved the problem reliably and safely for many, is to (re-)install the latest 10.5.x Combo-updater. Police are investigating a serious crash that happened in Hamden Friday afternoon. There is a long thread about the problem here:ĭo not apply the solutions suggested at the beginning of that thread unless you know what you are doing! The cause is still not known for certain. If the amount of RAM is not set higher than 512MB, it is is a known problem that affects only a minority of (mainly Leopard) systems. This error will always happen if the amount of RAM set for SheepShaver is higher than 512MB. Why would one work and the other shut down completely? I hope I'm just missing something obvious.ĭgl wrote:"ERROR: Cannot Map RAM: No such file or directory." I've cleared the pram and the config files between each attempt, using the provided scripts from these forums. I've tried multiple rom files (including one I extracted from the apple rom update using tomeviewer on an older 10.4 PPC system). Change your resolution to 640x480 (or possibly 512x384) and it'll be full screen. The problem is your screen resolution in OS 9 is larger than what the games use, so they stick it in a window. The other mac displays the same behavior for every version I try: The program opens, then the program immediately closes. I think I'm understanding you correctly that SheepShaver has OS 9 full screen on your monitor, but the games launch in windows on OS 9. It even runs COI "Chubby bunny" without complaint. It's happy with the version from this forum, and with the 2006 "official" release. It runs multiple versions from multiple places. One of them runs sheepshaver just fine, the other one steadfastly refuses to run it at all. As is the case with most software, SheepShaver has a free demo version available for download from its website. I have two computers I'm trying to troubleshoot. SheepShaver is an Apple Mac OS X compatible free utility designed to perform image conversion on a computer system, starting from a CD or DVD.
